Privacy Policy

What GigGenius collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Last Updated: October 2026

Introduction

GigGenius is a business management app for performers, musicians, and the people who organize gigs. This Privacy Policy explains what information GigGenius collects, how it is used, how it is shared, and the choices you have.

This policy describes how GigGenius actually operates today. If the way the app works changes, this policy will be updated.

Information We Collect

  • Account information, such as your name and email address.
  • Profile information you choose to add, such as performer details, instruments or roles, phone number, bio, photo, and social links.
  • Information you enter while using GigGenius, such as gigs, venues, people, projects, songs, setlists, gear, expenses, mileage, and payment status.
  • Content you upload, such as profile or project photos and schedule files you import.
  • Limited technical information generated when you use the app, such as server logs from our hosting platform.

Account and Profile Information

Your account is identified by your name and email address. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider; GigGenius does not display or store your password in readable form.

You can optionally add a performer or profile name, instruments and roles, a phone number, a bio, a profile photo, your website and social media links, and a home base location used for distance and mileage calculations.

You control certain visibility settings, such as whether your email address and phone number are shown to other users, whether your profile appears in public directories, and whether other people can check your availability.

Information Users Add to GigGenius

GigGenius stores the details you and the people you work with enter into the app. This includes projects and lineups, gig dates and times, venue details, people and connections, songs and setlists, gear and equipment, expenses, mileage, and payment status.

Some of this information may be visible to other members of the projects and gigs you share. Information you add about another person should only be added if you have a legitimate reason to record it.

Gig, Schedule, Venue, People, Song, Gear and Financial Tracking Data

GigGenius is built to organize the working parts of a performing career. That means the app stores the schedule, venue, people, song, gear, and financial records you create.

Financial tracking entries — including gig fees, payment status, expenses, and mileage — are organizational records you enter yourself. They are not bank transactions and are not processed by a financial institution through GigGenius.

Uploaded Content

You can upload images for your profile or projects, and files such as spreadsheets, documents, or images when importing a schedule. Uploaded files are stored on our hosting platform.

Images you upload for your profile or projects are stored on publicly accessible storage, which means they can be opened by anyone who has the link. Do not upload images you need to keep confidential.

Device and Technical Information

GigGenius runs on Base44, the platform that hosts the app, its database, and its file storage. Like most hosting providers, the platform may record technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, timestamps, and error logs in order to deliver and secure the service.

GigGenius does not use third-party advertising trackers inside the app. The platform also provides the app owner with usage analytics about how the app is used; those analytics are not used to build advertising profiles.

How Information Is Used

  • To create and maintain your account and profile.
  • To store, display, and calculate the gig, venue, people, song, gear, and financial information you enter.
  • To share information with the project members and gig participants you work with.
  • To power features such as availability checks, notifications, reports, invoices, and optional calendar sync.
  • To respond to your support requests and account or privacy requests.
  • To operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the app, and to protect it from misuse.

Authentication

Authentication for GigGenius is provided by the Base44 platform. Depending on how you sign up, you can create an account with an email address and password, or sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook.

When you sign in with a third-party provider, that provider authenticates you and shares basic account details such as your name and email address with GigGenius. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies.

Subscriptions and Payments

Paid plans are purchased through Base44 Payments, powered by Wix, using a hosted checkout page. Payment details such as card numbers or wallet credentials are entered directly on that checkout page and are processed by the payment provider. GigGenius does not receive or store your full payment card details.

GigGenius stores records related to your purchase and membership, such as the plan, amount, currency, payment status, a checkout and subscription identifier, the email used for the purchase, and any coupon applied. These records are used to activate and manage your plan.

Third-Party Services and Integrations

  • Base44 — hosts the app, database, file storage, authentication, and email delivery.
  • Base44 Payments, powered by Wix — processes subscription payments and billing.
  • TheSportsDB — supplies public sports schedules and team information used by Event Watch. Team, league, and schedule queries are sent to this service; your personal account details are not.
  • Google Calendar — an optional integration. If you connect it, GigGenius creates or updates calendar events for your gigs in your Google account. You can disconnect it at any time.
  • Base44's built-in AI services — used when you generate promotional post text, analyze your schedule, or chat with the in-app onboarding and tax assistants. The details needed for that request are sent to the AI service to produce the result.
  • Email delivery — used when you choose to send an invoice email to a venue contact you have entered.
  • OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service — used to look up coordinates for the street addresses you enter so venue distances and mileage can be calculated. The address you enter is sent to this service.

Analytics

GigGenius does not currently include third-party advertising or behavioral analytics trackers in the app itself. The hosting platform provides aggregate usage information to the app owner so the app can be maintained and improved.

Notifications

GigGenius sends in-app notifications, such as connection requests, project membership changes, gig updates, and reminders. These appear inside the app in your notification list.

GigGenius does not currently send push notifications, text messages, or email notifications about your account activity. The only emails sent on your behalf are invoice emails you choose to send to a venue contact.

Data Sharing

  • With people you work with — project members and gig participants can see the shared project, gig, and lineup information connected to them.
  • With public directories — if you choose to make your profile or a project public, the details you have allowed are visible to other users and visitors.
  • With service providers — the third-party services listed above process information on our behalf to deliver the features you use.
  • For legal reasons — information may be disclosed if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of users and the service.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

Data Storage and Security

Your information is stored on the Base44 platform, and access within GigGenius is limited by account and record-level access rules. For example, project and gig records are available to the members connected to them, and support requests are visible only to administrators.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

Information is kept while your account is active so the app can continue to work for you and the people you work with. When an account is deleted, your personal records are erased and your name is replaced in shared records.

Some records are kept after an account is deleted because other people, and the law, rely on them: shared gigs and projects, the financial history of other members, and purchase records needed for accounting, tax, and dispute purposes. Your email address may remain attached to those shared records as a marker that you were a former participant.

GigGenius does not currently apply a fixed retention period to all data. You can ask us about specific records using the support form.

User Choices and Rights

  • Edit or remove the profile details, photos, and content you have added.
  • Control whether your contact details and profile are visible to others.
  • Control who can check your availability and whether your calendar can be viewed.
  • Disconnect optional integrations, such as Google Calendar.
  • Delete your account from your Profile page.
  • Contact us through the support form to ask a question about your data.

Account and Data Deletion

You can delete your account from your Profile page at any time. Because gigs, projects, and financial records are usually shared with other people, deletion removes your personal account and records while keeping the shared history other members rely on accurate.

When you delete your account: any active paid subscription is cancelled immediately so you are not billed again; projects you own are transferred to another active member, or archived if no other member remains; you are removed from active project and gig lineups; your name in shared records is replaced with "Former GigGenius Member"; your profile, songs, setlists, gear, expenses, venues, availability, notifications, and saved preferences are deleted; gigs you created on your own are deleted; and your login is deactivated and you are signed out.

Shared records that reference your history remain available to the other members who rely on them. Purchase records are kept for accounting and legal purposes. If you want a specific shared record reviewed, contact us through the support form.

If you have questions about deletion or want to ask about a specific record, contact us through the support form.

Children's Privacy

GigGenius is not intended for anyone under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16, and accounts found to belong to someone under 16 will be deleted. If you believe someone under 16 has provided information to GigGenius, contact us through the support form so we can address it.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This policy may be updated as GigGenius changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after an update means the updated policy applies.
